David T.Y. Chou led Goldman’s Asian Special Situations Group and built the business into a true multi-asset investment platform to deploy capital across private equities, private credit, real estate as well as NPL (non-performing loan) acquisitions. David rose to the highest rank at Goldman in 2010 when he was elected to be a Partner Managing Director and also sat on multiple global Investment Committees where he helped to evaluate investments by Goldman across the globe.

Key Experiences
Finance Executive with Global Investment Banking Experience
David T.Y. Chou has over 25 years of experience in international finance. In 1997, David started his finance career at Merrill Lynch in New York in mergers and acquisitions whereby he advised on multiple US-based transactions across industrials, technology and the manufacturing sectors. David subsequently relocated to Hong Kong to continue his focus on mergers and acquisitions. In addition, given the vibrancy of the emerging local capital markets, David also participated in multiple equity and debt capital raising activities for clients in the Greater China market.
Seasoned Investor Across Multiple Asset Classes
In 2000, David T.Y. Chou joined Goldman Sachs to focus on Goldman’s fledgling investment management business in Greater China. In his 20 years career at Goldman, David spearheaded Goldman’s investments in multiple asset classes including private equities, private credit, real estate as well as NPL acquisitions. David also sat on multiple Goldman regional as well as Global Investment Committees whereby he helped to evaluate deals from all over the world till his retirement from the firm by the end of 2020.
